Rating: PG13 (for language)

Spoilers: None – set pre-series (Dean is 19, Sam is 15)

Disclaimer: Huh. I wish this was my day job.

Summary:  Dean dreams.

The nightmares wake him, shaking and sweating with cramps, several times a night.

Author’s Notes:  You know that feeling you sometimes have when you’ve been plugging away at a fic that felt good when you started writing it and ends up being kinda ‘nyeh’?   Feedback and constructive criticism is, as always, adored.

A Mask to Come Undone

Rating: PG13 (for language)

Spoilers: General spoilers for the S3 story arc

Disclaimer: Huh. I wish this was my day job.

Author’s Notes: This is, thematically at least, a companion piece to The Whipping Dance but it is also intended to work as a stand-alone. Feedback and constructive criticism are, as always, warmly received.

The prayer in his heart doesn't translate to words because there are no words for the desperate ache, the desperate longing. He bows his head and his whole body trembles with it. And then there are words; childish words, reflexive words. God, give me my brother and I swear I will never doubt you again. )

Title: These Are The Pale Deaths
Rating: PG13 for language
Spoilers: Up to the end of Season Two
Disclaimer: If it were my day job, I'd love going to work.
Summary: Five things Dean keeps, and five things he carries.
Author's Notes: Essentially a character sketch, this piece is a foray into the "five things" genre. Love to know what did, or didn't, work for you.

Disclaimer: Borrowed without permission, returned without damage
Author’s Notes: I’ve been kicking this around for a while now, since “Houses of the Holy” first aired, and am still not sure if I like it…but I thought I’d take a chance and post it. Feedback and constructive criticism is love.

Dean knows a lot about his brother. Ask him; he can tell you. )

Rating: PG, for language
Spoilers: Episode 2.12, Nightshifter
Disclaimer: Borrowed without asking, returned without damage
Author’s Notes: A brief character sketch of Dean in “Nightshifter”. I’d love to know what worked, or didn’t, for you.

When Dean has nightmares - normal nightmares, about things other than the smell of burning flesh or the sound a banshee makes as she's vanished or the prickle of EVP on the back of his neck - he dreams about being shut in. )

Title: Frail, the Skin is Dry and Pale
Rating: PG (for Language)
Characters/Pairings: Dean, Sam
Spoilers: Season Two, up to and including "Croatoan".
Disclaimer: Borrowed without asking, returned without damage.
Summary:: There's a cliff that the rest of the world is poised on top of and then there's the fucked-up precipice life gave the Winchesters: dangling out over the abyss, crumbling beneath their feet, and Dean finds it ironic that not even Sam can see how close to falling he really is.
Author's Notes: A brief character sketch of Dean in Season Two, leading up to the events in "Croatoan". Feedback is love, as is constructive criticism. Title from Seether's "Remedy".

There's a cliff that the rest of the world is poised on top of and then there's the fucked-up precipice life gave the Winchesters: dangling out over the abyss, crumbling beneath their feet, and Dean finds it ironic that not even Sam can see how close to falling he really is. He quit paying attention in high-school English long before the discussion on metaphors, but he understands analogies and he knows that his fingernails are torn ragged and bloody, the muscles in his arms shudder with the effort, his feet scrabble unsuccessfully in a constant search for purchase.  )

Title: Caressing the Empty
Rating: Adult
Characters/Pairings: Caleb/OFC
Spoilers: None
Disclaimer: Borrowed without permission and returned without damage.
Summary: He tells himself that she's John's daughter, that John will beat the living shit out of him, that the only thing worse than having John find out would be having Dean do the same.
Author's Notes: This is an interlude in the Burn verse; it's useful to read it first, but not necessary. Feedback and constructive criticism is always welcome.

She shows up on his doorstep at 2am, pounding frantically against the door and calling for him to come, come quick )

Title: Burning Fingers (One by One)
Rating: PG-13 (for language)
Characters/Pairings: Dean, John, sister (OFC)
Spoilers: Slight spoilers for Season One
Disclaimer: Borrowed without permission and returned without damage.
Summary: She cries until the night Daddy presses Lexie into his arms and shouts at him to take your sister outside as fast as you can and don't look back, now Dean, go. She doesn't cry much at all after that.
Author's Notes: AU is new territory for me in terms of writing - please let me know what you liked, or what you didn't.

She's red and wrinkly and she makes an awful lot of noise. Later, when he looks back, that's what he'll remember. The noise. )

My nephew was born, and died, three years ago this June. His poem is late this year, but hey, better late than never, right kiddo?

I love you. I miss you. I wish you were here. But I am, finally, reconciled to your loss.

Title: Frayed Threads of Sanity
Rating: M, for language and imagery
Spoilers: None
Disclaimer: I hate my day job. So naturally, this is not it.
Author’s Notes: A look at John Winchester…and though I adore the man (because, you know, he’s John), I found him rather harder to write than I anticipated.

He pulls her out of a burning house in Wilmington, Nebraska, this tiny bit of a girl who’s managed to partially sever the heads of at least two of the three family members she’s killed.  )

It's as cold as charity outside, my Wallabies just won their first test match in nine games, and I'm snuggled on the couch trying to un-bog my Supernatural John-fic from the murkiness it's slipped into. So, I figured why not...

Disclaimer: If this universe were mine, I'd probably enjoy my day job. Kudos to those who do own it.
Author's notes: This started out as a 'five things' fic but it just wasn't working; this is what came out instead.

It's the noise that wakes him; loud, screeching, curling under his door and filling his room, tearing him from sleep. )

Rating: M for coarse language and adult themes.
Spoilers: Season 4, up to and including “A Constellation of Doubt”.
Disclaimer: John et al? Not mine. If they were, and this was my job, I would probably like going to work…
Comments: This one has been floating around in draft form for a while now, but was finished in a burst of creative energy after watching PKW for the first time following its Australian release this weekend. (Love that it has aired!! Can go back to reading fanfic without being in dread of inadvertent spoilers!!)
